"There are currently many wedding planning checklists out there that have excluded one of the most important details that a bride should not forget- and that is finding a makeup artist. Although it has often been a tradition for a MOH, bridesmaid or mother to fulfill this duty, I would discourage this just for peace of mind. Professional artists understand how makeup reacts to light, both natural and artificial, in order to hide your flaws and bring out your best features. Understanding this is important to ensure you look beautiful both in person and in pictures. I was on the hunt for someone that would understand what I wanted, as well as how to achieve that without charging me what a plastic surgeon would charge. Being in NYC, a bride definitely has access to the best of the best. The key is finding the person who clicks with you, and Laura is definitely that person. Laura is talented, calming, and efficient- everything a bride needs. She uses high quality products (think NARS, Makeup Forever, Bare Essentials) and is determined in finding the right product for your skin color and tone. She taught me how to prep my skin and helped me find the right products; after all, skin care is for a lifetime. For our trial, we tried various looks that ranged from natural to glamorous. For the day of my wedding, she arrived ready and on-time. My look was classic with a hint of Bardot (clean skin, subtle rose glow, lots of lashes) that stayed on for 12 hours. Laura has my highest recommendation and I continue to refer her to every bride that I know."
